Resident Contacts - This article will explain two different ways to update/add contacts for residents.  Some contacts are specific to the resident, other contacts, like Doctors, maybe use for more than one resident and therefore are in the Master Contact menu.

1. User's can add new contacts from the menu by selecting "Clinical --> Master Contacts" for Doctor, Alternate Doctor, and Case Manager.

   - "Clinical --> Master Contacts" also include 'Ancillary Provider' like Hospital, Ambulance, and Mortuary (i.e. you can add new Ancillary Provider).

THESE CONTACTS WILL THEN BE AVAILABLE TO ADD TO ANY RESIDENT: Steps 1-5 below show how to add a new Doctor IF ONE DOES NOT ALREADY EXIST.

IF THE CONTACT ALREADY EXISTS - You will be able to "associate" it with a specific resident

2. Click on the '+' icon to associate/add a contact from Existing Master Contacts for system default Contact Type available.

- As an alternate way to add a contact if it does not exist in the Master Contacts drop-down list for a particular Contact Type, you can click on the 'Add New' button to add a new contact for that Contact Type.

3. + Contact: You can also associate/add Resident specific Contact (Contact Type) by click on "+ Contact" button -->'Add New' button.

4. Switch Contact: Click on the 'Switch Contact' icon for the contact that you want to switch with another contact.

5. Delete Contact Associate for an individual resident: Click on the 'X' icon to delete/remove a contact for this resident only. Since these types of contacts can be used in other resident details this function only removes them from being used for this resident.
